Meet Peter Kageyama: author, speaker, and expert in livable and lovable cities. Peter is the author of three books: 1) For the Love of Cities: The Love Affair Between People and Their Places, 2) Love Where You Live: Creating Emotionally Engaging Places and 3), The Emotional Infrastructure of Places.

He is the former President of Creative Tampa Bay, a grassroots community change organization and the co-founder of the Creative Cities Summit, an interdisciplinary conference that brings citizens and practitioners together around the big idea of ‘the city.’ He’s also spoken at a number of TEDx conferences.

In this interview, Peter shares his love for lovable cities, and simple and small changes can make a big impact before grandiose big planning. He believes FUN is an important element to lovable and livable cities, and shares numerous examples from cities across America. He explains how cities can leverage “co-creators” in the community to serve as a catalyst for supporting new ideas.

Tune in, and learn about “wheat pasting” and “yarn bombing” too! Thrive strives to create livable and lovable residential living communities, and Peter’s expertise helps guide and inform our work.
